Quick Synopsis – It’s not in Blair’s nature to just give up. Not when she’s beamed up to a spaceship and then dropped on an alien planet. Review of the Other Book in this Series – I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I’m Trapped in a Rom-Com by Kimberly Lemming – Book Review

Content Notes – This is an adult romance and has explicit sex scenes. There is also violence, blood, kidnapping, imprisonment, war, misogyny, dinosaurs on a rampage, and some mild drug use.

Review – Look, I love Kimberly Lemming. At this point whenever she publishes something I’m going to read it. I will also probably buy special editions of it. For me, this book was a little bit of a letdown, but it was still an absolutely fun romp through the alien world of Waffles. I loved Blair and Osid, to me they were pretty entertaining. I wouldn’t really say they’re true enemies to lovers, more like unwilling mates to willing mates to I’d like to murder you in cold blood, and then back to willing. I really had a good time reading this.

Blair is a no-nonsense character. I think her love ’em and leave ’em attitude was a bit too played up at times. It was a little too in your face for me. Same with Osid, his attitude as a crazy harsh leader who laughs through battle was a little over the top. I also got a little lost in the plot. This book starts at the same time as the first book and there are plot points that overlap. However, where there is overlap some of that is left out of this book so you really won’t know what is going on unless you’ve read the first one. I had to go back and jog my memory because I couldn’t remember what happened. Osid does have a conversation with Blair about having her caged up and Dorthy also being there, but it wasn’t enough of a conversation to really inform what happened.

I did feel like this book had a very cohesive plot when it came to the three different species. Especially when it came to how the humans and Sankado were going to work together against the birdlike creatures who captured them. I like that there was plot overlap, I just felt like the overlap could have been better explained. I can also easily see where Lemming can continue the story. Honestly, if she wanted, she could write in this world for a very long time….and I would buy every book.
