good enough

This is the argument
I am not good enough

My body takes up too much space
My mouth is too loud and carries too many words

I am not good enough

I will let you down
Fail you and our son

I am not good enough

My mind works against me, drags me into the darkest places
I am stuck on repeat, a cyclone of intrusive thoughts

I am not good enough

Rehearsing all the reasons you shouldn’t love me
Praying you don’t see them too

I will never be good enough

And yet you’re still here, still loving me
Holding my hand, pulling me out

maybe
maybe
maybe, I am enough
