howl

The wild in me matched the wild in you
Experiencing you was instinctual
Howling at the moon
Dancing naked in the forest light
Entwined together in the frenzy of our love

But wild things cannot be kept
We were not meant for forever
We used our teeth and claws to tear each other apart
Content to leave scars
A reminder of this wild thing we made

Sometimes I still howl for you
Longing for a wisp of your wild
